I have never cried so many tears
They came alone
They came in pairs
They came in sheets
They came in buckets, in torrents, in rivers
They came in silence
They came in gasps
They came in sobs
They came through eyelids squeezed tight
They fill my eyes wide open
Down my face each leaving a trace
One after another overlapping
Until all is obscured
Until all that remains are the tears
and the struggle to catch my breath
